Hailing from Malaysia, Johan was exposed to dance at an early age. Since taking up salsa in 2002 he developed a passion for all things latin. Since then he has taught, performed and choreographed routines that have been debuted on the national and international stage. With a passion for Bachata, he became South Australian Bachata Champion with his partner Kari Bowling in 2009.
His world was changed in 2008 when he was introduced to zouk lambada. With continuous one-on-one training by Larissa Thayane herself, Johan has come to understand the sensuality and serenity that can only be achieved by dancing zouk. Now he intends to spread the word of zouk by teaching it and performing it with Latin Dance Nation. With over 5 years of teaching experience, Johan has a light-hearted yet very technical style of teaching that has gained him a national reputation for producing some of the finest dance technicians in the state.
