Zouk Nation is proud to announce the first podcast in the United States dedicated solely to the multinational music/dance phenomenon known as Zouk.
It has been a long road traveled from the podcast’s original conception two years ago to today’s launch. As is often the case, when talking about an endeavor of this size it can never be attributed to just one person. I had a lot of help and support along the way. If you allow me a moment, I’d like to thank many of the people who helped make this podcast a reality.
Edson Freitas, Nelson Freitas, and Kaysha, who were among the first Zouk recording artists to throw their support behind the idea and to contribute music to the podcast. My good friend Eduardo Filizolla of Banda Aixa, who generously provided the music for Zouk Nation Podcast’s theme song along with all the interlude music. DJ Zoukerro, who helped me to identify the names and the artists of many of the songs in the Zouk Nation music library. Cyrus Collier who helped me iron out a great many of the technical issues involved in launching the podcast. And for their ongoing words of encouragement and support throughout the entire process, Addy Balajadia, Bernie Calang, Kristina Melike, Stephanie Batot, Juni Shimizu, Natasha Klushina, Miyan Levinson, Noah Robison-Cox, Aria Atai, Jereon Van Weeghel, Dennis Mook, Mike Fabrikant, Adrian Lopez, Claudio Gomes, Israel Szerman and DJ Nyx. Couldn’t have done it without you.

I am so proud of you. Great job!!
Excellent ! Congrats on delivering the baby
Congratulations with this launch and good luck with your zouk activities.
I like it a lot!! Great work bringing this to fruition.
Great selection of songs. I can’t wait to enjoy more chic-chic-doms in future podcasts!
Great job! I loved every music.
I’m loving this podcast; great song selections. I dig the announcements and interludes. Its really all good and best of all it makes the music accessible to potential dancers. Really think you’ve done something great, Im seeing
now why this project has taken awhile in coming to fruition. Alot of work, I’m sure.
Congratulations, Nicholas! It’s really well done!
Oh wow – this is great! It’s so hard to find good zouk music! Or, worse, I hear all these great songs, but can’t figure out who they’re by (especially when the songs are in other languages… it seems google doesn’t recognize “zouk song lyrics elbi al habib yalahabib bearib” hehe)
I looked these artists up (thanks for the putting links right there!) – and have lots of great new songs to buy. Thank you!!
Looking forward to the next one!
Great job! I use these songs too in my zouk classes.
Great song selection and thank you for the shout out!
The podcast is great! I had no idea Nicholas was a DJ as well as zouk promoter, website designer, and dancer – quadruple threat, at least, until other as-yet unseen talents come to light.
Happy Holidays to all!
Thank you so much for making this wonderful music available. I spent a lot of time trying to purchase zouk artists online, and it is not so easy in the USA (I’m not sure why) so this resource is invaluable. I love the music on all three podcasts and listen to them all the time. I found a great website with lots of zouk songs by DJ Mafie, DJ Nyx, and DJ Blacksoul which I will post to the blog later. Zouk it up in Miami!
It is good to see that there are people coming to this website and trying to make a difference in the dance world. us as the dancers must play our role as the musicians that come and want to become zouk nation musicians do. were gonna hit the world with a bIg zouk bomb and nobody is gonna expect it or know what hit them. i wanna thank zouk nation for opening my eyes to something that i think will change my life in a positive way.and ill do anything to return the favor and to share what i know of zouk to show my appreciations.
