Welcome to the official launch of the new and much improved Zouk Nation website. The launch of this site has been in the works for more months than I care to admit right now. But after all the time spent gathering information, all the technical issues, and last minute delays, I am happy and relieved to announce the site is finally online. Keep in mind there are a few areas of the site that are still being worked on, such as the podcast and parts of the dance section. Those should be up and running hopefully in the next month. So keep checking back.
A project of this size is not something that could have been accomplished alone. That being said, I’d like to take a moment to thank a few of the people who are largely responsible for making this possible: Cyrus Collier, who did all the programming and offered his advice in some of the technical aspect of the site that continued to elude me; Kristina Melike, who took on the arduous and unenviable task of gathering all the instructors photo, contact info, and bios for the Zouk Instructor Directory -I couldn’t have done it without you; Eduardo Filizzola for agreeing to be the site’s first featured zouk recording artist and Claudio Gomez for agreeing to be the site’s first featured zouk instructor (coming soon).
I also would like to thank those people who, from the very beginning have offered their support to the group and, whenever something needed to be done, stepped up and offered to help out. They are as follows: Adrian, my Lieutenant, who lives in D.C. and still does not let that deter him from taking a god-awful six hour bus ride to be up here for all the group’s meetings and events; Aria, for always being the first one to say, “yes,” sometimes even before I get a chance to tell him what the plan is; Saeko-chan for lending her talents as a graphic artist and creating the groups posters and promo cards; Sara, for keeping the entire group flying high on sugar with all her cookies and cakes, and finally, Chris at Lava Gina, who opened up his establishment and gave the zouk community a home. Thanks guys.
Chick-chick-doom,
Nicholas Bambo
