
Since beginning of the year, Zouk Nation has been working with the 92nd Street Y, one of the most prestigious and respected cultural institutions in Manhattan, to put together a Brazilian Carnaval to be held on Saturday, March 28th. The details for the event are as follows.
92ND STREET Y AND ZOUK NATION PRESENT: “BRAZILIAN CARNAVAL DANCE PARTY”
International dance instructor Willem Engel will start the evening out with a free zouk lambada dance lesson -often referred to as the “sexiest dance in the world”- from 8 to 9 pm. The rest of the evening, from 9 to 2 am, will be dancing to the Brazilian rhythms of forro, samba and samba de gafieira. Short performances of each dance and capoieira, a Brazilian form of martial arts, are scheduled throughout the evening, along with a raffle drawing and prizes. Free gift bags will be handed out to all who attend. Come experience a taste of Brazil without ever having to leave Manhattan.
